My Review

I have loved reading this series.  This is the last book in the Evernight series about Lucas and Bianca.  I am happy with how the author brought the characters and the series full circle.

Afterlife picks up where Hourglass ended.  Lucas is now a vampire, something he never wanted to become.  Bianca has to learn how to become a wraith and how to make Lucas realize that being a vampire is not so bad.  They will need help from their friends and a place that they never thought they would return to, Evernight Academy.  Lucas must seek refuge from Mrs. Bethany and Evernight Academy if he wants to learn how to exist as a vampire.  Bianca is there with him and will try to help him as best as she can.  Bianca will only reveal herself to certain people that she knows she can trust.  While Lucas is attending school and learning to be a vampire, Bianca is trying to figure out why Mrs. Bethany has all the wraiths in traps in the school and what she has planned.  Bianca is also learning to live as a wraith and interact with the other wraiths.  Will they be able to live with what they each have become?  Will they survive as a couple and will Bianca's parents be able to accept their daughter is now a wraith?

I didn't read this book as fast as the others in the series.  I really enjoyed this book but I loved the previous books a little better.  There was still as much action, suspense and twist and turns in this one as well as the previous books.  But it just had a different feel to it that I didn't connect with as much.   I did however wish that things would have been different between some of the characters.  I still loved all the characters and was happy to see some return.

I was happy with the ending of Bianca and Lucas's story.  However I would have liked to see how the other characters in the story were doing and where they were in the future.  Overall a great read and a great series!
