Summary from Goodreads
Laurel was mesmerized, staring at the pale things with wide eyes. They were terrifyingly beautiful—too beautiful for words.
Laurel turned to the mirror again, her eyes on the hovering petals that floated beside her head. They looked almost like wings.
In this extraordinary tale of magic and intrigue, romance and danger, everything you thought you knew about faeries will be changed forever.
My Review
Wings is such a fun page turning book. I loved it and couldn't put it down!
Laurel has just moved to a new city not too far from her childhood home. She starts a new school and has to make new friends. However she meets David fairly soon after arriving They quickly become good friends and even start to become more romantic by the end. Laurel has always known that she was different than other people, she just had no idea how different.
The story starts about about Laurel moving and getting adjusted. Then we learn what she really is and by the second half of the book things get really interesting. I liked all the characters, they were well developed and interesting. I like Tamani and am hoping that we get to know him and the others in the coming books.
The author introduced us to the characters and the story in this first installment. I am looking forward to finding out more about them and what the story is going to turn into in the next book. As I have already said this was a real page turner that I didn't want to put down. Being introduced to this type of fairy was new to me. All other books that I have read the fairies have never been "plants" and bloom. I thought this was a really neat and different take on fairies. I really enjoyed reading this book and look forward to reading the next book in this series!
