What would you give to be a dragon rider and marry the princess?

Two months ago, 18-year-old Hest discovered a baby dragon under the dungeon, and now he’s hearing the dragon’s voice. It comes at the strangest times, but usually when he needs it most in training fights. If only he could know when he’d get the help consistently instead of being the laughing stock of the other knights.

But not everyone believes the baby dragon is safe. The kingdom mage warns Hest that the dragon will overpower him if he’s not careful. As the bond grows in strength, Hest can’t keep it a secret, and if he thought life as a knight was complicated, try being next in line for the crown!

Hest isn’t the only one who wants the position as king. A traitor mage is determined to steal not only the crown, but the princess and Hest’s dragon!

Keeping a dragon is harder than finding one, but Hest will do anything—even allow the dragon to control him—to save his kingdom and his betrothed.

My Review

Blessed is the second book in this amazing series.  I honestly could not and did not want to put down my Kindle.  It was SO GOOD!

It's been two months since the first book ended and a lot has already happened.  Hest has been bonding more with the dragon, Usheen, that he found in the last book.  Hest hears his voice at times when he doesn't want to.  But Usheen is really only trying to help Hest, and at times he does need it.   Now that Usheen, an arc lukesure has chosen Hest, this now means that Hest is in line for throne.  Something that he never imagined for himself who was once an orphaned stable boy.  How things have changed for him since.  Not everyone is happy that he has advanced so far and is now a Ritter.  There are some that don't really like him and there is one mage that wants what he is set to have.  A mage from the previous book is going to try and take Usheen, the princess Sibohan and become king.

There is so much that happens in this installment.  I really enjoyed how Hest and Usheen's bond developed throughout the book.  I also really like Sibohan and how she just doesn't bow down and do whatever her father Athair, the King says.  I liked that they became friends and that their relationship is slowly developing.  The book progressed at a great pace with so much going on.  I liked that the author brought in the character Finn too.  I think he will be a great part of the story to come.  I was on the edge of my seat most of the time.  Not knowing what was going to happen to some of my favorite characters.

I loved the first book but this one took it to a whole new level.  I would recommend this series to anyone that loves fantasy, you will not be disappointed.  This e-book was provided to me for review.  This did not affect my review in any way.
