“You can’t keep resisting my irresistibleness, Natara Stone.”

Their worlds collide in California’s high desert.

The last thing Natara “Natti” Stone wants to do is to start anew at Setemple High School. She wished she had never left London. Yet the brutal murder of her maternal grandmother has made her life very complicated. The only clue related to her murder is an ancient, encrypted necklace Natti discovered after her grandmother’s death. And if trying to adjust to American life is not enough, Natti is being stalked by a mysterious, charming high school senior, Seth O’Keefe, who is annoyingly persistent in his attempts at seduction.

Seth O’Keefe is secretly a member of the Sons of Set, an order that worships the Egyptian god of chaos. Seth’s blessing from Set, his “charm,” never failed, except with one person: Natti Stone. Her ability to elude him infatuates and infuriates him, and he becomes obsessed with the chase. But the closer he gets to her, the more his emotions take a dangerous turn, and he risks breaking one of the most valued covenants of his order. The punishment for which is a fate worse than death.

The adventure this unlikely couple becomes engulfed in could cost them their lives and their souls.

My Review

Daughter Of Isis is an interesting, fun and a bit dark first book in this series. It has so many elements that I enjoy in a good book. I loved learning about the Egyptian mythology.

Natara Stone or as she prefers Natti has just moved from London to California with her dad. While they loved living in London there were too many terrible things that happened to their family. She is part Egyptian but doesn't really know much about her background or the secrets that her family have been trying to hide from her.

Seth is a secret member of The Sons Of Set who worship the Egyptian god of chaos Set. Seth is a good looking guy who can have any girl he wants and they all want him too. But he also has a magic charm that he can turn on to get what he wants.

When they first arrive in their new city she is taken back by all the Egyptian statues and such. Nattie's first day of school is pretty much your typical first day but a little more odd. She is only there a few minutes and runs into Seth and one of his many girls. Upon meeting he starts to turn on his charm but she is not having it. He finds it odd that Natti is able to resist his charm. Natti feels a pull toward Seth but really wants nothing to do with him.

It's not long before their worlds interact more than they would like. Seth thinks Natti is keeping a secret from him and all the while she is trying to figure out the secret message from her late grandmother. I liked how Natti and Seth didn't fall for each other right away. The author did a good job of story building with the plot without giving too much away. There is action and suspense throughout the story. I also thought the plot was a bit dark at times but really good too. The last part of the book was very suspenseful and we are left with a cliffhanger ending.

I enjoyed the book, the characters and the Egyptian mythology. It is an interesting first book and I am looking forward to finding out what happens next. This e-book was provided to me for review. This did not affect my review in any way.
