Only those closest to her know what she is capable of, but when she discovers the body of a young boy she also draws the attention of the FBI, threatening her entire way of life.

As Violet works to keep her morbid ability a secret, she unwittingly becomes the object of a dangerous obsession. Normally, she'd turn to her best friend, Jay, except now that they are officially a couple, the rules of their relationship seem to have changed. And with Jay spending more and more time with his new friend Mike, Violet is left with too much time on her hands as she wonders where things went wrong. But when she fills the void by digging into Mike's tragic family history, she stumbles upon a dark truth that could put everyone in danger.

My Review

Desires of the Dead is book two in the Body Finder series. I wasn't sure what to expect with the sequel but it did not disappoint. It was even better and more exciting than the first book.

Violet continues to hear or feel the echoes of the dead, whether it be an animal or a human. She thinks that all the chaos is over and now she can go back to living her life but that is not the case. When Violet discovers a dead boy from an echo she draws the attention of the FBI. This is not the attention that she wants or needs. She doesn't want anyone else to know about her ability to discover the dead. She wants to be able to tell Jay what is going on but he is spending most of his time with his new friend Mike. So while trying to keep her ability secret she also spends her time looking into Mike and his family's past.

I enjoyed this book even more than the first one. The mystery was even more exciting and not easy to figure out who was behind everything. I liked that the author brought in new characters, Sara and Rafe. Although they are still so much we don't know about them and how they fit in with the FBI. I am hoping to learn more about them in the next book. I love Violet and Jay together and their friends are still some of my favorite characters. There is action, suspense, mystery and romance. There are suspenseful parts and then there are sweet moments throughout. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.
