On a routine call to rescue humans, celestial warrior Gladriel kills a demon, a once-an-eon occurrence. And now its brethren plan to exact revenge. Despite the Almighty’s explicit order to let him handle things, after a month of his inaction, Glad feels ignored and breaks rank to fight back. But she’s expelled from Heaven for insubordination, as a result.

Glad finds herself enrolled at Morningstar Academy, a school dedicated to re-educating newly fallen angels. The core curriculum: making human lives a living hell, and compliance is mandatory. Never having encountered such radical ideas before, Glad finds her beliefs thoroughly challenged, but she refuses to capitulate. She just hopes she’s strong enough to weather the trials that will come with her defiance.

My Review

Cursed is the first book in the Morningstar Academy and it did not disappoint! From the first page to the cliffhanger ending I could not put it down.

Gladriel is a celestrial warrior in the third heaven. During a battle with demons she kills one and that is not something that she was not supposed to do. Now the demons are out for revenge against her and her celestial warrior friends. When the Almighty forbids Gladriel from taking revenge against the demons for she doesn't listen. That leads her to getting expelled from Heaven. She is taken to second heaven where she is enrolled in Morningstar Academy.

No one at Morningstar Academy makes it easy for her at all. Everything they do goes against Gladriel's beliefs. It is difficult for her to get along with anyone or to do good in her classes. During one of her class trips she and her classmates are tasked with searching for clues as to why humans are disappearing from Earth. This leads Gladriel to realize that this maybe the beginning of an ancient prophecy. Will she be able to convince her classmates and maybe new friends to help her figure it out?

As I said in the beginning I could not put this down. The story never slowed down a bit, the plot is interesting and well written. The author did a good job with the story building. I enjoyed the entire book and am looking forward to reading the next one. This e-book was provided to me for review. This did not affect my review in any way.
