Before, Violet's morbid ability to sense the dead led her to uncover dark murders and long-buried secrets in her small town. Now that she's working with a special investigative team, Violet hopes she can help even more people - whether by saving a life or catching a killer.

Although she's relieved to finally be honest about what she can do, her instant connection with her mysterious partner, Rafe, is both confusing and unsettling, and their unique bond creates tension with her boyfriend, Jay. When she discovers the body of a college student murdered by "the collector," Violet refuses to give up on the case. With her own relationship on the line, Violet doesn't realize that the serial killer is looking to add to his collection and that she may have caught his eye. Will the life Violet has to save be her own?

My Review

The Last Echo is even better than the first two books. Each book in this series just keeps getting better and better. The excitement, the suspense, the romance is just more intense with each book. The author certainly upped the suspense in this installment.

Violet is now working with Sara and her team. She is relieved to finally be able to share what she can do with her ability. Her and her team are on the case of trying to find a murder known as "The Collector". Violet is not only possibly on the killer's radar but she also gets herself into another killer's grasp. Then there is her relationship with her boyfriend Jay. They seem like the perfect couple but she has a connection with Rafe that she is not sure about.

In this book the author didn't focus so much on her school friends as much as she did her new team who are now friends too. I liked that we got to know more about each of the members of the team and what they can do. I really enjoyed the plot and all the twists and turns in this one. I did however skip over the sections that was from the killer's point of view. It was just way to creepy for me! Overall I loved the story and how everything progressed. The ending leaves us with a surprising cliffhanger ending that is making me want to read the next book soon!

  1. While I'm not a fan of cliffhanger endings, this does sound like a book that would keep me engaged.
